Who
Energy Isles Limited is a consortium of over fifty mainly Shetland-based businesses with a strong desire to ensure that the benefits of Shetland's emerging new renewable energy sector are retained as far as possible within the isles.

What
The project has evolved from a 63 turbine wind farm in 2014 to a 23 turbine wind farm today. A planning application was submitted to the Scottish Government in May 2019, with further information due to be submitted later this summer.

Why
The pace of climate change requires urgent reductions in our burning of fossil fuels for energy to avoid a potentially devastating global temperature rise of +2°C. Our governments have committed themselves to strict targets for clean energy production - our project would help them meet those while bringing substantial financial benefits to Shetland.
